Accounting & banking

The invoice you raised is already in the books.

A bank feed you reconcile, ledgers that balance, GST on every line and TDS in both directions — in the same workspace as the deal it came from, so nothing is re-keyed into a second package.

  • Bank reconciliation
  • GST and TDS built in
  • Exact to the paisa
In short

SimplCRM keeps the books alongside the CRM: a chart of accounts, customer and vendor ledgers, bank and cash accounts, expenses, bills and journals. An invoice raised against a deal posts straight to the ledger, a bank statement is reconciled line by line, GST is carried per line by place of supply, and TDS is recorded both when a customer deducts it from you and when you deduct it from a vendor.

Reconcile the bank without leaving the CRM

Each statement line matched to a payment, a bill or an account — in bulk when a run of them is the same.

  • Reconcile

    Bulk-categorise a run of lines

Select the salary debits, the UPI receipts, the card fees, and set them all against the right account at once. What is left over is what actually needs a human.

  • Post through

A receipt lands on the customer ledger

Match a credit to an invoice and it clears the receivable, updates the customer balance and shows on their statement — one action, not three screens.

  • Exact money

    It balances to the paisa

Every figure is an exact decimal, not floating point, so a reconciled account and the GST return agree rather than drifting across a thousand rows.

The questions an accounts team asks

Where does an invoice post to?

To the sales ledger and the customer’s account, the moment it is issued. The tax splits into its CGST, SGST or IGST components, TDS deducted by the customer sits in its own receivable account, and the balance shows as owed. Nobody types the invoice into accounting software a second time, which is where the two sets of numbers usually start to disagree.

How do I record TDS a customer deducted?

On the receipt. When a customer pays you less the TDS they withheld, you record the payment and the TDS together; the shortfall posts to a TDS-receivable ledger rather than looking like an underpayment, and it appears on the TDS statement you reconcile against Form 26AS. TDS you deduct on a vendor bill works the same way in the other direction.

Can each branch keep its own books?

Yes. A branch is a real object with its own GSTIN, so its sales, its expenses and its bank lines belong to it, and a report can be run for one branch or for the company. The person who runs the Mumbai branch sees Mumbai; the director sees all of it. The boundary holds in the ledger, not only on the screen.

What does my accountant get at year end?

An export of entries that were made as the work happened, not reconstructed from memory in March. Because the invoices, receipts, bills and bank reconciliation already live together, the year-end job is review rather than data entry — and the GST returns through the year were built from the same figures.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Does SimplCRM do accounting as well as CRM?

Yes. The same workspace keeps the books: a chart of accounts, customer and vendor ledgers, bank and cash accounts, expenses and bills, and journals — with an invoice raised in the CRM posting straight to the ledger rather than being re-keyed into separate software.

Can I reconcile a bank statement?

Yes. Import a statement or add lines by hand, then categorise each one against an account, a customer payment or a bill — in bulk where a run of lines is the same. Money is stored as exact decimals, so a reconciled account agrees to the paisa rather than drifting by a rupee.

How does it handle GST and TDS?

GST is carried on the line it belongs to — CGST and SGST or IGST by place of supply — and rolls up into the returns. TDS is recorded in both directions: deducted by a customer on what they pay you, and deducted by you on a vendor bill, each posting to its own ledger and appearing on a TDS statement.

Do I still need a separate accountant’s package?

For day-to-day billing, receipts, payments and GST most businesses do not — the ledger, the bank reconciliation and the returns live where the invoices are raised. At year end an accountant works from an export rather than from a shoebox, because the entries were made as the work happened.
